At the Media Development Researchers Conference on January 25, attendees gathered to lay the groundwork for a research agenda that will help make a stronger case for independent media as a way to build civil society and to accomplish a wide range of other development goals. Leading media development researchers and donors presented their research on panels throughout the day. Select presentations are available below.

Opening Presentation: Joyce Barnathan, International Center for Journalists

Barnathan discussed the goals of the conference and current “hot topics,” geographic areas of interest and trends in the media development field.
